Four Fundamentals for Reaching the Finish. The 4th fundamental is "Be Focused"; in a world where far too many Christians are looking back while trying to run forward, this text acts as a way to refocus our attention on the New Covenant Promises by warning us not to focus on the past. The Second Fundamental necessary to reach the finish in running the “faith race” is – Be Trainable!  Athletes who refuse to be trained by their Coaches fail as will Christians who refuse the training offered by their Lord.

Therefore, let us learn to be Trainable and finish with maturity.--Hebrews 12:7-11
