Suffering Humanly: Jesus was Tested--Jesus is Able to Aid those who are Tested

In Hebrews 2:18 Jesus is Presented as a Great High Priest who gives Aid to men. As one who suffered testing and temptation He is able to Aid those who are tempted so that we who believe may come to Jesus confidently and humbly for His Aid in overcoming temptations. --Hebrews 2:18

 

Suffering – God’s Plan for the Subjection of All Things Pt 4

Today Jesus is Presented as a Great High Priest who suffered to make propitiation for sin and who gives Aid to men as one who suffered testing & temptation, He is able to Aid those who are tempted so that we who believe may come to Jesus confidently and humbly for His Aid in overcoming temptations. --Hebrews 2:16-18

 

Suffering – God’s plan for the Subjection of All Things Pt 3

III.   Suffering Secured the Subjection of the Ultimate Oppressor – (the Devil & Death)

Hebrews Ch. 2 shows us that suffering is God’s plan for the Subjection of all things thereby, restoring glory first to Jesus “the Son of man” and then, by suffering to sons of men.

In these verses the writer of Hebrews maintains the humanity & death of Christ through which suffering, he subjects death and the devil. -- Hebrews 2:14-16

Hebrews Ch. 2 shows us that suffering is God’s plan for the Subjection of all things thereby, restoring glory first to Jesus “the Son of man” and then, by suffering to sons of men.

This morning we will see the suffering of Jesus as a “fitting” way to bring many “sons” to glory and fittingly uniting all believers to Himself through suffering. --Hebrews 2:10-13

Sin hates Subjection – Rebellion is sin that refuses to be a willing Subject of God’s rule.  Hebrews Ch. 2 shows us that suffering is God’s plan for the Subjection of all things thereby, restoring glory first to Jesus “the Son of man” and then, by suffering also, to sons of men.

This morning we will see the subjection of creation, lost by man’s sin but restored through the Suffering of Christ!--Hebrews 2:5-18
