Today we learn that no man takes the honor of High Priest upon himself so that we may accept Jesus as our God honored Great High Priest in the order of Melchizedek. – Hebrews 5:4 – 6

Our Great High Priest: Deliver us from Ignorance! Pt 2

The Herald of the book of Hebrews declares Jesus the Great High Priest of God in Heaven and begins the process of Delivering these Hebrews believers of their Ignorance concerning Him so that they, and we like them may come to a complete and mature knowledge of Jesus’ role as High Priest and thereby anchored to a firm Faith that will not drift away in times of Trouble. Our Great High Priest: Deliver us from Ignorance! Pt 1

Our High Priest PT 9--His Distribution of Grace in Time of Need

There are Real times of Need for Christians. When those times come, we must go where we are guaranteed to find Grace to help in time of need. That place we discover in this text is the Throne of Grace and the way before the throne is Found only by having the Great High Priest by your side Jesus Christ the Son of God! – Hebrews 4:16c

Hebrews 4:14-16 Teaches every Hebrew believer and every Gentile believer that we may approach the throne of Grace with boldness because we have a High Priest who is Greater than all previous High Priests, is Sympathetic toward our Human weaknesses and who encourages our Expectations of Mercy and Grace. --Hebrews 4:16

Jesus our Great High Priest, leads us to God’s “rest” seemingly, paradoxically, via Fear, via the Word and now in verses 14-16 via Boldness.  Listen, as verse 13 teaches our Bold confession of our Great High Priest so that we may approach the Throne of Grace with confidence. --Hebrews 4:14

 III.       Jesus Leads us to God’s Rest Via “Boldness” (4:14-16)

Our High Priest Who Leads us to a Promised Rest Pt 4

Jesus our Great High Priest does what priest’s do – He leads us to God.  In Hebrews chapter four our High Priest leads us to God’s “rest” seemingly, paradoxically, via Fear, via the Word and then via Boldness. Fear reminds us that it is belief followed by obedience that opens the way into God's rest. The word exposes our true heart condition so that we may have confidence in our pursuit of entering the rest of God – His promised reward for all who believe.
